She was named after her maternal great grandmother Juana, who was one of the greatest shamans of MAPUCHE tribe of Indians and was famous for her capability to cure diseases and ward off bad spirits. Juanita inherited not only her name but also some of her talents. Most notably – the ability to comfort people, predict the future and perform natural healing.

Her love and gift to the fine arts became obvious at an early age. She dreamed of becoming an artist, but her father, a military conservative man was a pessimistic about art as profession for a young Latin woman, although he appreciated her outsanding talent. Juanita was forced to choose a different vocation. She became an educator for troubled teens. She applied her spiritual powers and managed to gain the respect of young juvenile offenders and helped many of them to get back on the right track. But her dream of becoming an artist had never ceased. In pursuit of perfection and cultural exposure she moved to the USA. She found happiness in her private life by marrying an American businessman and her artistic talent has blossomed.
Her unique vision was developed under the influence of Chilean ancient art and French impressionists. She says that her pictures convey an unconditional message of love and peace. Customers, after taking her art home often say that their life and relationships in the family become much better. Juanita thinks an explanation is very simple: every picture is part of her and the pictures have blessing of her great grandmother. |
